About This Game "Eventide: Slavic Fable is an exciting adventure game inspired by Slavic mythology. Set in a contemporary heritage park where mythical Slavic creatures co-exist with humans, the adventure begins when the protagonist, a famous botanist, receives an alarming invitation from her grandmother, the park's curator. I like this game. Very nice, colourful and fun :). Typical HOG, well made, flowing game play, lovely artwork, non intrusive soundtrack, and easy to follow story. That was definitely beyond what I was expecting. The story and slavic mythical creatures setting was interesting and there was a good mixture of difficulty and variety with the puzzles. It wasn't all just point and click, and it wasn't all super easy nor was it too hard, right in the goldilocks range in my opinion.The bonus stage really brought the story and characters around for me. They were nice, but by the bonus stage, I liked them more.If you're a fan of puzzle and hidden object games, and enjoy a dash of mythology, this game will be right up your alley.. edit: I forgot to mention that I literally fell asleep playing this game, and because I slept past where I could return it, I just had to finish it. So I really enjoy hidden object games. I find them super soothing, and fun, and usually there's some pretty nice art. This game... is definitely on the lower end of hidden object games. Firstly, there's very few, if ANY, references to Slavic lore, past your grandmother being hamfistedly nicknamed 'Baba'. Second, there's very few actual hidden object puzzles in the game, and the ones that are there are extremely easy. There's very few puzzles, and no puzzles that took me more than 2 minutes to do. Most of the 'puzzles' in the game were needless backtracking to try to figure out what in the world the game wanted me to do. The story is extremely weak as well--I won't spoil anything in case you are, for whatever reason, extremely invested, but the 'villain's' backstory is... so stupid. It's so dumb. The voice acting is way more jilted than any other Artifex Mundi game I've played, and there's typos galore, a couple of which actually got read aloud! Go play Grim Legends or the Davy Jones series. The puzzles are pretty much just copies of eachother, but at least they're competent copies with slightly interesting plots. The stupidest puzzle I encountered was one where I had to tie a magnet to a stick and string (but not a piece of rope I had earlier) in order to fish a puzzle piece... out of an open cage that I could clearly reach into. To be fair, there was a skeleton in the cage, so maybe she just didn't want to touch it?Oh also there's a power outlet in the STONE WALL of the MEDIEVAL CASTLE. How in the world did they install that. Extra extra points for it involving a puzzle where you plug in a fan near a wet surface. 'Cause that's not an electrical hazard at all.. Very interesting plot. For a fairytale game it covers the territory with beauty and amazing graphics. The bad guy was obvious to the little girl; she forgot her instincts as she grew up and the story had a launching point. The bond between the young woman and her grandmother was believable. One complaint is that the grandmother is that she did not take caare of her appearance. I have been taught as a registered nurse that if I do not take care of myself I will not be able to properly take of the people I am caring for. I guess that was the point because she was kidnapped and tortured. Anyway, I enjoyed the game.. was too easy. The background of slavic legends is really really nice.Graphics are a real charm.The gameplay is nice & fluid.The music is at the top!Very nice game!8,5/10. Pretty good, but with less HO content and a bit more finding things and applying them. I'm also not a fan of the HO scenes where they show the items, but not the names.. I loved this game.
